To all Senior 2 - parents and swimmers When we begin back to training on Monday, April 27th, the following change will take place to the Senior 2 practice schedule - FRIDAYS - will now be from 7:00 - 8:15pm - Dryland will be in the pool area or outside from 6:15 - 7:00pm. USA Swimming and the Wahoos are assisting Swim Across America’s efforts in spreading the word about the nationwide swimming event on February 14 for Richard Quick. “Swim Quick” is a fundraising program developed by Swim Across America to provide a tangible way for everyone to support Richard – and all those affected by cancer. By collectively donating to Swim Across America and swimming together in his honor on February 14th, we can share with him how much he has impacted our lives.
On Thursday, February 12, the Wahoos will particpate during their scheduled practice. This practice will be dedicated in Richard’s honor. There will be a moment of silence at the beginning of practice. Swim Across American, (SAA), would like all swimmers and their families to donate as generously as they can to SAA in support of this cause. They can write a check or donate online at www.swimacrossamerica.org/swimquick. All checks can be made out to: Swim Across America, Inc. and will be put toward the Richard Quick Endowment. Please bring your check/donation on Thursday, February 12th to your swimmer's practice. Coaches will collect these and send to the SAA foundation on Richard Quick's behalf. If you have questions about participating, please contact the individual listed in the linked document above. Coaches may print the Coach Donation Form to record swimmer donations.

Wahoo Program Fee Second Payments

Hello all. The Wahoo Program Fee SECOND PAYMENTS are coming in very slow. It is my understanding that many of you thought that when you registered in the fall with your credit card, the Y would automatically charge your card on December 1st. That is not the case. No matter what form of payment you used for the first half of the program fee, you still need to log onto the Y web site and pay the second fee. This must be done before January 1, 2009. If you have any questions, please contact Jeff Allen in the Wahoo Office or Pam and Nancy in the Y business office. Your attention is needed immediately to this matter. Thanks and have a great holiday!

TIRED OF TIMING? If you are looking for some creative, flexible, or just new ways to earn your credits, here are some ideas. These jobs are often not listed on Super Meets as they need to be arranged for in advance.
Concessions: Calling all shoppers!! You can earn credits shopping for Wahoo Concessions. Food or Drink Pick-Up (1 credit each): These jobs take about 4 hours and can be done 1 or 2 days before a meet. Minivan or SUV is needed. All the items will be pre-ordered and waiting for you to pick up. You just load them in, drive to the Y and carry them inside. We will have a dolly available for your use at the Y. There are usually 2 spots available per meet: Drinks & Food. If you are interested, please contact Annbeth Lattimer. annbethlattimer@optonline.net 834-1662. This job is not available for sign-up on-line.
Ridgefield Bagel pick-up (1 credit) If you live near Ridgefield center and/or will be driving past there on the way to the meet Saturday or Sunday morning (or in the case of a 3-day meet, Friday afternoon) you can start earning your credit even before you leave town. When there is a 7:00 am warm-up, bagels need to be picked up at Steve's Bagels by 6:15 am. Your swimmer has to be at the pool by 6:40 (no problem). You then work at concessions until only 10:15 am (halfway thru the meet). Please note, when you are working concessions, you do get breaks so that you can watch your swimmer. You can sign up for this job on-line at Super Meets. Just look for the slot that says "Ridgefield Bagel Pick-Up".
