Message from the Coach:
Important Information for Swimmers and Parents for our upcoming Championship Season!!
It is time once again to start preparing for our Championship Season! It is very important that all swimmers begin to take care of their bodies.
- We are looking forward to a great championship season!!
- Please drink plenty of water to keep your bodies hydrated. It is a good idea to try to drink 5/32 oz bottles of water over the course of a whole day.
- Start to eat healthy foods. Stay away from the Junk Food and Soda! Don’t forget to eat breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
Go to bed on time and get a good night sleep to help your body recover.
Start wearing your sneakers wherever you go. Avoid wearing your flip flops and crocs.
The reason I want you to wear your sneakers versus your crocs or flip flops is that sneakers have arch support and are designed to cushion your
feet and legs when you run or walk. This will keep your legs less fatigued. The first thing to go in a race is your legs so anything we can do to
keep your legs from getting fatigued and tired is a plus. That is why it is very important to wear your sneakers wherever you go over the next two to four weeks.
It is especially important that you wear your sneakers at the meet! Anytime you walk around, to the bathroom or behind the blocks wear your sneakers.
It will give you an advantage over your competition.
Thank you and let’s have an awesome weekend at UCONN!!
